Drospirenone/Ethinyl Estradiol is a combination birth control pill. It works by preventing ovulation, thickening the mucus in the cervix, and changing the lining of the uterus.

Uses of Yaz Birth Control Pill

Drospirenone/ Ethinyl Estradiol is used for preventing pregnancy. This medication also may be used to treat premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD) or moderate acne if you have chosen to use birth control pills as your method of pregnancy prevention.

Yaz Pill Possible Side-Effects

  • Breast tenderness;
  • bleeding or spotting between menstrual periods;
  • nausea; stomach cramps or bloating;
  • vomiting;
  • weight gain.
