Edaravone Injection belongs to a class of medication known as ‘neuro-protective’, primarily indicated in the treatment of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). It prevents and treats the further progression of this neurological disease.

ALS is a progressive neurological disease that damages the nerve cells responsible for walking, chewing, talking especially the brain and spinal cord. As this disease is progressive so its symptoms get worse over time if the right treatment is not provided.

It helps to slow down the worsening of the neurological disease. It is an antioxidant that prevents the death of nerve cells and preserves the functioning of muscles. It helps to keep nerve cells healthy so that an individual can perform normal activities like walking, eating during the day.

• Inform your healthcare provider immediately if you experience itching, swelling of the lips, tongue, or face, breathing problems or have trouble swallowing after receiving this medicine.
• Inform your healthcare provider if you have a known allergy to sulfa drugs.

I am an asthmatic patient, can i take this Injection?
It contains sodium bisulfite, which may cause a hypersensitive reaction that can be serious or life-threatening. Sodium bisulfite if giving to asthmatic patients may cause asthmatic episodes so this is not recommended to use in asthma patients. Asthmatic persons are more sensitive to sulfite sensitivity.

Can I use it at comfort of my home?
It should be administered at doctor’s office or hospital however a patient should consult with their doctor to know which action is right for them.
